Event Description

ICS-400: Advanced ICS (ICS-400)

This two day course examines the roles and responsibilities of the key command staff and general staff personnel who report to the Incident Commander or Area Command. Participants will develop an understanding of the key interactions, which must occur between members of the Command and General Staff in complex incident and event management. This advanced course bridges the gap between the Incident Commander, and State and Federal Multi-Agency Coordination Centers responding to a major disaster.

Prerequisites ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents (ICS-300)
This course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 through ICS-300 courses, which are prerequisites for ICS-400.

Target Audience Supervisory and Management Level Personnel 
Eligibility

Target Audience: Senior personnel, such as Emergency Management Directors, Chiefs of Departments and their Deputies (or next in rank depending on rank structure), who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or Multiagency Coordination Center or in an area command or complex incident environment. Please demonstrate in the justification field the role you serve as a supervisory/management level position.

Note: Priority seating will go to individuals who currently possess a state recognized ICS-300 certificate. Participants who register for an ICS-400 class will either remain on a waitlist or will be withdrawn if we met the waitlist restriction until the individual provides proof of the required prerequisite certificate. 

Virtual Course Requirements: To be considered for acceptance into a virtual course, each individual must have a strong internet connection, a computer with microphone and webcam capabilities. Students are required to be in attendance through the entire course and must complete the pre-test and post-test portions of the class. **This only applies to virtual courses and is not applicable to in-person offerings.
